The key insight: Session replays capture the full context of user decisions - mouse movements, hesitations, reading patterns - not just final clicks. This gives us enough behavioral signal to model decision-making with surprising accuracy.

Backstory

This started when I kept seeing early-stage companies launch suboptimal experiences because they were scared to make decisions without A/B test data. The standard advice of "test everything" doesn't work when you can't afford to give half your users a bad experience.

The breakthrough came from realizing session replay data contains way more behavioral context than traditional analytics. We can see not just what users click, but how they think through decisions.
