End-to-end AI filmmaking software.

Flick is an AI filmmaking software that lets people create Hollywood-level short films completely using AI end-to-end. There are many AI tools that can give you 8-second casual clips to post on social media, but when it comes to creating truly high-quality films with coherent storylines, consistent characters, and cinematic aesthetics, they don’t come close due to their lack of flexibility, creative control, and fragmented creative flow. Founded by an award-winning filmmaker and a founding engineer at Instagram, Flick defines an interface specifically designed for native AI filmmaking that feels natural and enables end-to-end creative flows. Think of Flick as Figma for AI filmmaking. There are 4 complete AI short films created using Flick that got 20+ awards in international film festivals already and our early creator residency community are generating several AI short films every week. We are also building a community where we produce our own AI films as well as collaborating with other well-known filmmakers to share their “behind-the-scenes” workflows as resuable templates to inspire users in our community. We not only build product, we also build world-class content. The whole film industry will be revolutionized by AI and our goal is to be “the product” that defines this category.

Problem

Many AI tools can give you 8-second casual clips to post on social media, but when it comes to making high-quality films, they don’t come close due to their lack of flexibility, creative control, and fragmented creative flow.

Creators think very differently from consumers. Creators think in a non-linear way — moving back and forth freely to iterate, making decisions at every step. To direct a film, creators need not just visual and character consistency, but also character movement, shot angles, camera language, and emotional arc.

Solution

Flick puts creative power back in the hands of filmmakers:

  1. Infinite Canvas + Chat

An infinite canvas where users upload or generate text, images, and video as connected nodes. We integrate multiple models, but instead of prompt-to-video, we let filmmakers think in terms of scripts, characters, and scenes and give them a natural “chat to create on canvas” experience.

  2. Editing while creating

Creators like to go back and forth when making shots, so we built editing tools directly into the canvas. So, they can define exactly what kind of shot they want to add or delete to ensure a stronger narrative.

  3. Studio + Perplexity for film scenes

No one creates from nothing, we’ve needed inspiration since the beginning of humanity. That’s why we’re building Studio, where we produce our own AI films and collaborate with leading filmmakers to share their behind-the-scenes workflows as reusable canvases and templates for our community members.

And integrated Perplexity for film search, allowing users to find classic film shots as references.

About Us

Ray was a founding engineer at Instagram AI team, who helped build the first version of Instagram Stories, launched it and helped grow it from 0 to 400M DAU in 2018. As main contributor, wrote almost all the backend code in the first year. Have built multiple profitable AI products in the past venture.

Zoey has been a filmmaker since 2013, graduated from Brown and RISD. She is an award-winning filmmaker and product designer. Previously her creations include commercials for Mercedes-Benz, viral short films with millions of views, an award-winning documentary, and collaborations with leading film talents such as cinematographer Thierry Arbogast (Léon). Her AI filmmaking research was published at SIGGRAPH 2025.

Flick was emerged from the creation of Zoey’s first AI film that got best visual award at MIT film festival. Since then, there are 4 complete AI short films created using Flick that got 20+ awards at international film festivals and our early creator residency are generating several AI short films every week.

Mission

The next generation of creators won’t think about “prompting models” at all, they’ll just direct, compose, and feel, and the tools will disappear into their creative flow. That’s the future we’re building toward. And that’s why we exist.
