TLDR:
Hey everyone! We’re John (engineer and unmanned systems expert) and Dante (repeat defense founder). Albacore Inc. is building the next generation of unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) to prevent maritime invasions. Our first product is Ghostfin: a 6-foot-long autonomous underwater vehicle that can patrol over 1,000 nautical miles undetected and massively damage hostile watercraft.

🏴☠️ The Problem: America doesn’t have any long-range underwater strike weapons.
In the case of an Indo-Pacific conflict, our military’s existing suite of autonomous underwater vehicles is woefully unprepared. Today’s unmanned underwater vehicles are short-range, expensive, and overly mission-specific. Unlike the Ukrainians or even the Houthis, America doesn’t have underwater vehicles built for attack missions in service.
🚀 Our Solution: Low-cost autonomous underwater vehicles that can travel 10x further.
Range is the key constraint in massive bodies of water like the Pacific Ocean. The Albacore team has spent years working on power technology and manufacturing for unmanned systems, and can build Ghostfin far more efficiently than anything on the market today by using a combination of highly scalable in-house-designed and off-the-shelf components.
👥 Our Team:
John Huddleston, Co-Founder: John is a mechanical engineer who spent 3 years at the Boston Consulting Group advising government agencies and Fortune 500 companies in the defense industrial base. He worked on >$9b in unmanned systems manufacturing and procurement efforts alongside senior military leadership.
Dante Vaisbort, Co-Founder: Dante is a second-time founder in defense, who has won and led more than >$10m in DoD contract efforts for his first company, Haylon Technologies, which builds power technology for autonomous systems and is still active.
We also have an incredible engineering team hailing from Lockheed Martin, Johnson & Johnson etc. who have won underwater vehicle competitions and have a combined 20 years experience on space flight technology, autonomous vehicle AI, medical robotics, and robosubs.
