Kestroll 🎬 AI-powered media asset management

Search terabytes of video and photo archives for the exact moment.

Hey everyone! We are Tom and Ben, the cofounders of Kestroll.

TL;DR

Kestroll is an AI-powered media asset management platform that automatically logs and organizes media assets (photos, audio, and especially videos), making terabytes of content easily searchable and instantly distributable.

The Problem

Imagine you’re a filmmaker working on a feature-length movie, a creative producer at a professional sports team, or a digital asset manager at an enterprise.

For every hour of content, you must spend 3-5 hours watching it back and labeling it. Even for labeled content, you will likely still have to rewatch again to find niche or specific moments that you didn’t explicitly label. And let’s not forget that people from other teams and departments will be constantly pinging you for specific shots they need.

In short, the logging process is tedious, the search experience sucks, and distribution is a bottleneck.

Kestroll integrates with any media storage solution(s) (cloud, NAS, SAN, hard drives), making the following possible across terabytes of content:

  • Search for content via natural language, based on visual cues, abstract concepts, or creative intent
  • Access all media content from one interface for your entire team
  • Share content via links, instead of shipping hard drives or walking them down the hall to another department (yes, people actually do that)
  • Pull content found on Kestroll directly into the editing platform (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Lightroom, etc.)

Who we are

We met in our freshman year, built one of the largest student-run startup accelerators in Boston during our sophomore year, and cofounded an AI language tutor in our senior year. Before building Kestroll, Ben worked as a founding engineer and Tom as a founding sales at seed-stage YC companies. Tom is also a videographer and felt this problem personally.
