The Problem

Traditional automation is broken for tasks outside of factories. It’s expensive, rigid, and slow to deploy. Each new use-case demands a custom $100,000+ integration, months of setup, and only works in tightly controlled environments.

General-purpose robots promise to change that. The dream: drop-in systems that replace expensive human labor with cheap, flexible robotic labor. But in reality, most general robotic systems don’t justify their cost. The math doesn’t work:

Value = Human labor saved – Robot cost

Today, robots lose this equation in two key areas:

• Low productivity: they don’t save enough labor
• Hardware, setup, and training costs are too high

The future doesn’t need more traditional robotic arms - it needs smarter, cheaper ones that can adapt quickly.

Our Solution

We combine:

• Low-cost hardware: a pair of stationary robotic arms for under $10,000
• Self-learning control software: we use imitation learning and offline reinforcement learning to adapt the robot to new tasks and environments from just a handful of demonstrations

This makes robotic automation accessible to a far broader set of businesses - even ones that previously couldn’t justify the investment.

About Us

I’m Jannik, a former robot learning researcher at UC Berkeley and TU Munich, with a degree in Mechatronics. I’ve contributed to frontier open-source projects in robotic manipulation, and my work in the space has been featured by TechCrunch.
