Sygaldry: Quantum-Accelerated AI Servers

Solve AI cost and energy bottlenecks by exponentially speeding up training and inference

We’re Chad Rigetti and Idalia Friedson, and we’re building Sygaldry. Chad Rigetti is in second-time founder mode with Sygaldry, having built quantum computing company Rigetti Computing from YC S14 to a public company (NASDAQ: RGTI). Idalia Friedson, former Chief Strategy Officer at Strangeworks, helped Chad take Rigetti public in 2022 after starting the world’s first quantum policy center at the Hudson Institute.

Why Sygaldry?

Sygaldry’s quantum-accelerated AI servers will allow companies to innovate more quickly, improve margins, and deploy better AI products by providing speedups at a fraction of the cost and energy of GPUs alone.

The Problem:

AI progress demands more chips, more power, and more data centers—a trajectory that is physically and environmentally unsustainable with purely classical infrastructure.

The Solution:

Augment classical infrastructure with quantum processors built for AI, since quantum can provide exponential speedups for specific AI tasks. Sygaldry is building quantum-accelerated AI servers to speed up training and inference and creating tools for AI researchers to integrate quantum capabilities into AI models and workflows.

The Impact:

  • Reduce the time between model releases
  • Fine-tune existing models faster
  • Enable faster token generation for distributed LLMs
  • Unlock faster inference for diffusion models
  • Conduct greater exploration in novel model architecture
  • Leverage secure quantum communication channels
  • Increase AI affordability, accessibility, and personalization

Sygaldry’s Unique Approach:

Most quantum computers are built using one type of quantum bit, but each qubit has distinct strengths and weaknesses. Sygaldry AI servers combine multiple qubit types within a single, fault-tolerant architecture to leverage their strengths, while avoiding their limitations. This is the same way classical computers are made. We believe this approach to quantum will seem obvious in retrospect.
