About the role

About Vouch:

Vouch is the insurance broker that powers ambition.

We’re a tech-enabled insurance advisory and brokerage purpose-built for growing companies in technology, life sciences, and professional services. Our clients are ambitious leaders building complex businesses, and we help them manage risk with tailored advice, smart coverage, and responsive service.

Backed by over $225M from world-class investors, Vouch combines deep industry expertise with AI-powered tools to deliver a better insurance experience. Our digital workflows reduce friction, speed up decisions, and give our clients the confidence to move faster.

Why should you join our team and Vouch?

Not only is this an exciting and growing team where you can drive a real impact on our operational scalability, but Vouch is also the preferred insurance provider to customers of Y Combinator, Brex, Carta, and WeWork. We’re a quickly growing startup that believes in transparency and acknowledgment with our team members and cultivating a values-driven company. Our values are “Put People First,” “Listen, Challenge, and Grow,” “Face challenges head-on and win as a team,” and “Serve clients with integrity and excellence.”

What does a work environment look like at Vouch?

This role will be based near one of our hub offices in New York or San Francisco. We require the team members to be in the office at least two days per week (Monday and Thursday) to foster close collaboration and team building.

Why this role matters:

As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you’ll be on the front lines of growth, building trusted relationships with the leaders of some of the most innovative companies in the world. Your work is about building trust through tailored, thoughtful human-first connection, not volume for volume’s sake.

You’ll collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing to identify the right opportunities, design engagement strategies, and position Vouch as a growth partner for some of the most innovative companies in the market. Expect to connect with prospects through email, social, phone, and in-person events like conferences and industry gatherings. Your work directly impacts pipeline creation and shapes how innovative companies think about risk.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build relationships: Engage with founders, CFOs, and executives at companies  that match our ideal client profile through personalized, multi-channel outreach (email, phone, social, and events).
  • Represent Vouch externally: Attend and network at conferences, industry events, and ecosystem gatherings to build credibility and create and nurture opportunities.
  • Design prospecting plays: Partner with Sales & Marketing to build pre- and post-event engagement strategies, tailored campaigns, and account-specific plays.
  • Exceed goals: Meet and surpass activity, conversion, and pipeline contribution targets by focusing on quality conversations and meaningful engagement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Serve as the voice of the prospect by sharing insights from prospects with Sales, Marketing, and Product to improve messaging, offerings and client experience.
  • Stay curious and continuously expand your knowledge of insurance, risk, and industry trends to better anticipate client needs and refine outreach.
  • Demonstrate persistence and adaptability in the face of obstacles, continuously testing and refining approaches to improve results.
  • Use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gong) and prospecting platforms (Amplemarket, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Harmonic) to research, personalize, and scale outreach while continuously optimizing messaging.

About you:

  • 1+ years of experience in B2B sales or business development with a track record of meeting/exceeding targets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; you are able to craft clear, compelling messages and confidently engage executives, both through cold outreach and in-person.
  • Curious, resilient, and adaptable; you thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Organized and proactive with strong follow-through
  • Passion for working with ambitious, fast-growing companies

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with startups or in a high-growth environment
  • Competitive spirit and a history of excelling in team-oriented environments
  • Familiarity with prospecting tools (Amplemarket, Harmonic, LinkedIn Sales Navigator,, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Familiarity with AI tools for sales enablement to streamline prospecting and improve engagement quality
  • Background in insurance or another regulated industry

About Vouch

Insurance... sounds slow, old-fashioned, and unexciting. Exactly. Insurance is broken, and it's failing fast-moving, innovative startups.

Vouch is a new, technology-first insurance company backed with $185M in funding from world-class investors. Like Stripe for payments or Brex for credit cards, Vouch is creating the go-to business insurance for high-growth companies.

We're doing this by making insurance fast, responsive, and focused on our high-growth and innovative customers. Instead of printed PDF applications and week-long waits, Vouch is building new technology to solve real problems, writing policies that actually cover relevant startup scenarios, and designing simple experiences in an otherwise frustrating industry.
