About the role

We are seeking a technical, product-focused individual to join our early team at Subsets, with two primary responsibilities: to hold a deeper understanding of the Subsets product than anyone else and to ensure that our customers achieve success with Subsets. By understanding the product and talking to our customers, you can identify common user challenges, determine necessary product improvements, and shape new features. We refer to this role as a Forward Deployed Product Manager (PM).

You will essentially be the critical bridge between our clients' business needs and our products’ strategic direction. Imagine spending approximately 50% of your time embedded with our customers, driving product strategy and strengthening our overall offering, while the remaining 50% spent fixing product issues, executing on-site, and shaping new features.

As a Forward Deployed Product Manager (PM), you will work closely with our customers, including both stakeholders and end-users. You’ll have to solve both small issues and make big product decisions.

In this role, you will

  • Work closely with our customers and understand their needs - this might include being physically at our customers' offices.
  • Be responsible for our product roadmap and shape feedback coming from customer meetings into product improvements and future features.
  • Work directly with the founding team and our platform team to prioritize new features and the product roadmap.
  • Create MVPs for new features and test these live with customers.
  • Write non-production code from time to time.

You may be a good fit if you have

  • Experience in consulting or other customer-facing areas.
  • Excellent communication skills - you can clearly explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Coding experience in Python and/or SQL. You will not be writing production code, but you will need to fix issues and (vibe)code MVPs.
  • Work well under time pressure.
  • The ability to work effectively in a startup environment where things change fast and tasks are sometimes loosely defined.

This is neither an exhaustive nor a necessary list of capabilities. If none of these apply to you, but you believe you can contribute to Subsets, please reach out.

About the interview

We will typically meet three times:

  1. for an introductory coffee in our Copenhagen office
  2. for an in-depth technical interview, and
  3. for a work trial.

A work trial consists of two days of work in our office in Copenhagen, allowing both parties to understand how we work together and whether Subsets is the right fit for you. You are paid for your time.
