Founding Engineer

The Role

As our Founding Engineer, you will work directly with the founders to architect and ship the core platform. You will:

• Build the agent framework: planning, tool use, memory, safe execution
• Develop integrations for complex university systems and productivity tools
• Own features end to end from design to deploy to monitor
• Bake in security, compliance, and observability from day one
• Use AI tools (Cursor, Claude, Copilot) to multiply output while keeping mastery of your code

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years building backend, platform, or data systems
• Fluent in Python (our core stack), strong SQL and data modeling
• Experience with async workflows and integrations at scale
• Familiar with agent frameworks and orchestration patterns (LangGraph, Temporal, LangChain)
• Bonus: experience in higher-ed systems or early-stage startups
