As a Mission Operations Software & Testing Intern, you will work with Reditus Space’s engineering team to develop the tools and processes that enable safe and efficient spacecraft operations. You will contribute to both ground software development and integrated spacecraft testing, gaining experience with real mission workflows and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop Python scripts to automate mission operations workflows
- Interface mission operations software with external ground data systems
- Support integrated spacecraft testing on the spacecraft testbed and internal simulation environments
- Validate and test spacecraft command sequences prior to uplink
- Analyze downlinked spacecraft telemetry and payload data
- Contribute to mission operations documentation and procedures
Qualifications
- Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (senior undergraduate or graduate level)
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Understanding of spacecraft operations concepts (telemetry, commanding, ground systems)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
- Experience with spacecraft testbeds, simulation tools, and/or ground data systems
- Familiarity with software development best practices (e.g., Git, testing frameworks)
