Software to find the best sites for renewables on the electrical grid
About Nira:
About the role:
As our first Forward Deployed Engineer, your role is to help launch Nira’s new business line with the Independent System Operators (ISOs). You’ll work directly with the founders every day. This is the perfect role for aspiring founders; you’ll learn critical skills by being responsible for going from zero to one at each ISO. And on top of that, you get to play a key role in mitigating the climate crisis.
If you’ve worked as an FDE at Palantir, this is the same role (our CTO is ex-Palantir). As a FDE, you are responsible for the software at a particular ISO. You’ll work hand-in-hand with a Transmission Planning Engineer (TPE) and an Echo (deployment strategist). You’ll get to travel across the country to embed directly with the ISO users. If you love talking to users, fixing their problems with software, and shipping to production - all in a week - this is the role for you.
You’ll work side by side with Nira’s domain experts (TPEs) to transform how the grid is built at the ISOs. ISOs are the organizations that plan our electrical grid and they are a critical bottleneck in the energy transition. Making the ISOs more efficient directly accelerates decarbonization of our power grid.
