Founding Engineer #2 – Help Us Ship Faster Than We Break

Misprint is a peer-to-peer marketplace for graded and sealed Pokémon cards. Think StockX / stock market for Pokemon cards — built for liquidity, transparency, and speed. We launched earlier this year and have grown GMV 8x in the past 3 months and we’re just getting started.

We’re a small, scrappy team (2 founders + 1 engineer), and we’re looking for a high-agency full stack engineer to help us ship faster, reduce chaos, and unblock growth.

🧩 About the role

This isn’t a “wait for tickets” job — it’s a “see a bottleneck and fix it” job. You’ll work directly with the founders to:

• Ship long-awaited features (portfolio tracking, bidding, saved searches, bulk tools, etc.)
• Optimize internal tools and seller flows
• Build support automations so our CTO isn’t the one issuing refunds via the database
• Crush bugs and improve UX across the marketplace
• Give the site a visual refresh — if you have an eye for design, we need it

We’re looking for a builder, not just a coder — someone who cares about product, speed, and clean systems, and who gets joy from turning messy problems into elegant solutions.

🛠️ Our stack

• Frontend: React / Next.js / Tailwind
• Backend: Supabase (Postgres), Python (FastAPI), some Node
• Infra: Vercel, Porter, Stripe, GCP

✅ You might be a fit if you:

• Have 2–5+ years of full stack experience (or equivalent via projects)
• Are comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced startup
• Can go from idea to shipped with minimal hand-holding
• Have good product instincts and UX empathy
• Have a decent eye for UI/visual design (or at least care when something looks bad)
• Love taking ownership and unblocking teams
• Know how to pick the right tradeoff between speed and quality

Bonus: You’re a Pokémon nerd, enjoy marketplaces, or like working on stuff that touches real physical products.

📍 Logistics

• Location: In-person in our NYC office (Midtown)
• Schedule: Full-time, 9am–7pm Monday to Friday, with some weekend time when needed
• Compensation: Competitive salary + meaningful equity
• Start date: As soon as possible
