Role Overview
We’re looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) who thrives at the intersection of AI, engineering, and customer experience.
In this role, you’ll work side-by-side with enterprise customers - deeply understanding their marketing and data infrastructure, uncovering opportunities for AI automation, and helping design how Just Words plugs in to reshape their workflows.
You’ll act like an embedded engineer on the customer’s team - diagnosing bottlenecks, architecting solutions, and bringing ideas from whiteboard to production.
What You’ll Do
- Immerse yourself in each customer’s ecosystem - ESPs, data warehouses, APIs, and internal tools to map how campaigns and experiments run today
- Identify where agentic AI can automate decision-making (segmentation, messaging, send times, optimization)
- Architect and implement integrations between Just Words and systems like Braze, Iterable, Customer.io, Segment, and Snowflake
- Prototype new workflows or AI agents that can become part of the broader Just Words product
- Collaborate closely with our Product, AI, and Data teams to translate customer discoveries into scalable platform features
- Act as the technical voice of the customer, advocating for what would make their workflows 10× more efficient
- Represent Just Words externally with professionalism and empathy - you’ll be a trusted partner and the face of our AI platform within customer teams, so strong communication, relationship-building, and stewardship of our company’s image are essential
You’ll Excel If You
- Have 2-5 years of experience in software engineering, solutions architecture, or AI-driven systems
- Are fluent in Python, SQL, REST APIs, and cloud services (AWS/GCP)
- Are curious about marketing data, experimentation platforms, and personalization pipelines
- Love working directly with customers, not just building what’s asked, but spotting what’s possible
- Thrive in ambiguity and fast feedback loops, turning open-ended ideas into working systems
