About the role

Interfere is building the self-healing layer of the internet: software that detects issues, diagnoses root causes, and ships fixes before anyone notices something’s broken. The goal is to empower founders, product managers, and designers to understand how the product they're building actually works in the real world.

Software runs civilization. When it breaks, the world stutters. We're building its immune system.

This is not a normal job – it demands taste, intensity, and obsession. Difficulty wakes the genius.

The Moment

AI has democratized shipping code, but excellence remains scarce. We're creating the infrastructure that makes product excellence no longer aspirational but inevitable and expected. We've raised over $5.1M from world class investors like Y Combinator, Vercel Ventures, Hummingbird, Designer Fund, and many others to turn our vision into reality.

This isn't about incremental improvements, but about fundamentally changing how reliable software gets built. As our Head of Community & Developer Relations, you’ll shape how the world understands, adopts, and builds with Interfere.

The Role

You’ll be the voice, steward, and architect of Interfere’s developer ecosystem.

This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, design, and storytelling. Your mission is to build deep trust with developers and technical leaders - and turn that trust into a community that shapes the product itself.

You’ll ensure that when developers talk about autonomous software repair, reliability, and AI-native infrastructure, Interfere is the reference point.

The Work

You'll operate at the intersection of the impossible and the inevitable. This role demands:

  • Depth over breadth – You know the difference between real community and performative engagement, and you build the former
  • Boundless empathy – You deeply understand how developers think, build, and debug - and you translate complexity without dilution
  • Craft at velocity – High-quality writing, talks, demos, and resources, shipped quickly without sacrificing clarity or depth
  • "High Standards Win" – Question everything, rebuild from scratch when needed, never accept "that's how it's done" or "good enough"
  • Ownership without borders – Your domain is whatever needs doing to make Interfere exceptional. No excuses

What You'll Build

  • A developer community that trusts Interfere with production-critical systems
  • Clear, compelling narratives around self-healing software and AI-driven reliability
  • Documentation, guides, demos, and examples that developers actually want to use
  • Feedback loops between users, community, and the core engineering team
  • Developer education through talks, workshops, writing, and events
  • Strategic presence in the places that matter: GitHub, Discord/Slack, conferences, and technical media
  • Early champions who shape the roadmap and advocate for Interfere organically

What We're Looking For

  • Immense pride in the work you do and a desire to work towards building the best products on earth
  • Builders with taste: You know the difference between good and great, and you can't sleep until you've achieved the latter
  • Systems thinkers: You understand how community, product, and adoption reinforce each other
  • Relentless learners: You dive into unfamiliar domains and emerge with either expertise or a delusional drive to acquire it.
  • Clear communicators: You make hard ideas feel inevitable rather than intimidating
  • Deep technical credibility: You’ve worked closely with engineers or have been one yourself

Nice to Have

  • Experience in developer relations, developer marketing, or technical community leadership
  • Background in developer tools, infrastructure, observability, or AI platforms
  • Strong technical writing or public speaking track record
  • Experience building early-stage developer communities from zero to critical mass
  • Open source contributions, talks, blogs, or other proof of exceptional work

What We Offer

  • Founding team equity and competitive compensation
  • Complete ownership of meaningful work
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Visa sponsorship for exceptional international candidates
  • The opportunity to define how AI rebuilds software reliability

How We Work

We're in-person in New York City, and believe proximity accelerates everything that matters - but we'll gladly help you move here.

Send us evidence of exceptional work you’ve shipped - writing, talks, communities you’ve built, developer products you’ve supported - and a note about why Interfere resonates with you.
