About the role

We’re an early-stage, venture-backed startup building a product experimentation platform for engineers and data scientists. We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer who combines strong product thinking, elegant visual design, and a deep understanding of complex UX patterns for a technical audience.

You’ll report to our Head of Design and work closely with engineers to define problems, shape solutions, and ship high-quality experiences. There’s no PM layer—you’ll help define product direction, map user flows, and bring clarity to ambiguity. We have a basic design system in place. Your focus will be applying it rigorously while continuing to shape the patterns that bring consistency and clarity to every corner of the product.

What You’ll Do

  • Own design for core product areas—from early exploration to final execution
  • Turn complex logic and data into clear, intuitive workflows and interfaces
  • Apply and evolve our design system to ensure consistency and usability
  • Collaborate directly with engineers to scope, iterate, and ship quickly
  • Prioritize work for impact—balancing ideal UX with release constraints
  • Design without detailed specs and advocate for solutions that serve user needs
  • Influence product direction by surfacing insights and proposing improvements

You Might Be a Fit If You

  • Have 5+ years of experience designing B2B SaaS products, especially in early-stage or complex tool environments
  • Are strong in both visual UI and complex UX design—able to craft elegant screens and untangle dense workflows
  • Have designed dashboards, data visualizations, or multi-step workflows with clarity and precision
  • Thrive without a PM—comfortable identifying problems, scoping solutions, and collaborating directly with engineers
  • Think in systems and design for scalability, clarity, and long-term usability
  • Work iteratively—comfortable proposing early solutions, gathering feedback, and refining quickly
  • Are highly organized and communicative—keeping your own priorities clear and collaborating well in Figma, writing, and live sessions

Bonus Points

  • Experience designing for technical or operational users (e.g., devtools, analytics, internal tooling)
  • Familiarity with charting libraries, state logic, or permission models
  • Experience working on products or teams that experiment frequently—you understand iteration, A/B testing, and designing for learning

Benefits

  • 100% remote work from anywhere (within US time zones)
  • Small, senior team with fast iteration cycles and low process overhead
  • Health, Vision, and Dental benefits (we cover 100% of the cost for employees and 95% for dependents)
  • Generous tech stipend for your home office (or coworking space)
  • Regular off-sites in exciting places (our latest one was in the Dominican Republic)

GrowthBook is an equal opportunity employer, and is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive environment for all employees.

We regret that we cannot sponsor employment visas at this time, although we can make exceptions for H1B transfers.

About the interview

No design tests. No surprises. Just thoughtful conversations.

  • 30-min. Introductory call with Head of Design
  • 30-min. Portfolio review with Head of Design
  • 45-min. Deep-dive case study with team
  • 30-min. Culture & fit call with leadership

1. Intro Call (30 min)

An informal conversation with our Head of Design. We’ll share more about the role, our team, and what we’re building—and learn more about your background, goals, and what you're looking for next.

2. Portfolio Review (30 min)

You’ll walk us through 1–2 recent projects. We’re especially interested in your approach to complex UX, system-level thinking, and how you work in environments without a lot of structure.

3. Case Study Deep Dive (45-60 min)

You’ll join our Head of Design and a senior engineer or founder for a deeper conversation around one project—ideally something data-heavy, technically complex, or systems-driven. We’ll focus on how you defined the problem, explored tradeoffs, and collaborated with others to ship.

4. Culture & Collaboration Fit (30–45 min)

You’ll meet with a founder or engineering lead to talk about how we work as a team—how we prioritize, collaborate, and stay organized in a fast-paced, low-process environment. We want to make sure we set each other up for success.

We move quickly—our goal is to go from first conversation to decision in under 2 weeks.
