What you’ll do
- Launch and scale AI chat in docs. We’ve built a prototype for AI chat in our docs—check it out in the search bar at buildwithfern.com/learn). Customer demand is growing, and feedback is rolling in. You’ll help us refine, iterate, and fully launch this feature so tens of thousands of developers can benefit.
- Build to emerging standards. We launched
/llms.txtto support a new standard for how LLMs and agents interact with developer docs, receiving incredible feedback and ideas—from auto-generating Cursor rules to optimizing for token efficiency. You’ll play a key role in shaping and iterating on these early innovations based on input from our customers like ElevenLabs, Cohere, Vapi, Pinecone, and more. - Instrument and analyze performance. As we develop AI tools, you’ll design evaluation systems, monitor performance metrics, and troubleshoot issues as they arise. You’ll implement tracking and analytics to understand how features are used and ensure they deliver meaningful value to developers. Additionally, you’ll integrate usage and billing systems, ensuring alignment between feature adoption and transparent, scalable pricing for our customers.
- Bring talent to our team. As we scale, you’ll work closely with our CEO and CTO to attract and hire talented engineers.
What you’ll bring
- 2+ years of professional software engineering development
- Experience developing, deploying, and monitoring an AI product or feature
- (Bonus) You've worked in a high-growth SaaS company
- (Bonus) Experience working with the OpenAPI specification, Conjure (Palantir), or Smithy (AWS)

- A salary of $170,000 to $210,000 and equity
